The Radius Indiana region is home to Naval Support Activity Crane. NSA Crane is the third largest naval installation in the world and makes defense a huge economic driver for Southern Indiana. Radius Indiana serves as the voice for Crane outside the gates and assists with growing the private defense sector and connecting Crane with community, regional and state leadership. With direct access to Crane, defense industry companies can connect directly with decision makers.

Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane): NSWC Crane’s total focus is to support the Warfighter by leveraging its technical capabilities for the rapidly changing combat environment. Anchored by technical expertise, a strong work ethic and total lifecycle leadership, NSWC Crane’s personnel and preeminent facilities set the standard for excellence in acquisition, engineering and sustainment. NSWC Crane provides comprehensive support for complex military systems spanning design, development, deployment and sustainment in three focus areas:  Electronic Warfare, Strategic Missions and Expeditionary Warfare.

Crane Army Ammunition Activity: Established October 1977, Crane Army Ammunition Activity maintains ordnance professionals and infrastructure in order to receive, store, ship, produce, renovate and demilitarize conventional ammunition, missiles and related components. It is located on Naval Support Activity, Crane.

Technology Transfer: NSWC Crane’s patent portfolio is a part of Crane’s Technology Transfer (T2) program. T2 seeks to license and collaborate with local individuals, companies and academic institutions for the purpose of transferring government protected innovations for commercialization, ultimately spurring economic development and transfer back into the federal government.
 
NSWC Crane Small Business Program creates and delivers small business options for the warfare center. It is the policy of the Government to provide maximum practicable opportunities in its acquisitions to small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, and women-owned small business concerns.

Nearly 150 attendees gathered to learn about the organization’s accomplishments from the past year and to hear about initiatives and key focus areas for 2017.
BEDFORD, Ind. (March 8, 2017) —Tourism is thriving in the Radius Indiana region, according to a newly released study by market research firm Rockport Analytics. The study shows visitor spending totaling $271.6 million, marking a 13 percent increase from the previous year and a regional economic impact of $198 million.
BEDFORD, Ind. (March 1, 2017) — Radius Indiana’s inaugural economic development course scheduled for March 28-30 at the French Lick Resort is sold out and the waitlist for additional registrants continues to grow.
Bedford, Ind. (Feb 27, 2017) — Radius Indiana and a representative from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation traveled to Greenville, S.C. last week to meet with site selectors and share the advantages of doing business in the Radius region. The organization is continuing its successful outreach program that began last year.
