Radius Indiana Names Joe Timbrook As Chief Operating Officer

Bedford, Ind. (Dec. 20, 2016) - Radius Indiana announced today that Joe Timbrook has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Timbrook has served as the Radius Indiana manager for  nearly six years heading up workforce development, the tourism advisory council and fiscal management for the organization.
"Joe has been an instrumental part of Radius for most of the organization's existence and has been a major catalyst for many of its initiatives," said Radius Indiana President and CEO Jeff Quyle. "I look forward to working with Joe in the COO role, and I am confident that his enthusiasm, commitment to growing our economy, and invaluable understanding of the region will bring continued success to Radius."
Beginning immediately, Timbrook will take a lead role on major initiatives, as directed by the CEO and Board of Directors, and provide strategic oversight and direction for business development including defense industry, manufacturing, workforce, education and tourism activities of the organization. In promoting Radius Indiana's economic development, he also will work to enhance relationships with key business, community and government leaders at the regional, state, national and international level.

"I look forward to working with our stakeholders, and especially groups like the Southern Indiana Business Alliance and the Regional Impact Fund Board, on initiatives that improve the quality of life for the residents in our eight counties."
Joe Timbrook became manager of Radius Indiana in March 2011. He is responsible for multiple workforce development projects, tourism advancement for the Radius Region, and the organization's office management. Timbrook participates on the Indiana Works Councils for regions 8, 10 and11 to help develop career, technical and vocational curriculum for high school students to establish career pathways as well as internship and apprenticeship opportunities. He collaborates with multiple groups and organizations such as the Indiana Economic Development Association, the Indiana Department of Workforce Development's Taskforce and the University of Indianapolis Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning to advance initiatives for the region.
He is the administrator for the Southern Indiana Business Alliance. The Alliance works to educate the state of Indiana, Congressional leaders and Pentagon officials on the value and contribution of NSA Crane to our National Defense. Timbrook is also the administrator and one of the original architects of the Regional Impact Fund, which awards grants and loans for economic development and job growth projects in the Radius region. He facilitates the Radius region's Tourism Advisory Council, where he helps develop strategies for advancement of the region's $250 million tourism industry. Timbrook works closely with the Regional Opportunity Initiatives, Inc., a Lilly Endowment funded, regional development and quality-of-place initiative. For ROI Timbrook has conducted projects such as a regional occupational needs assessment and workforce planning. Previously, he worked with the Lawrence County Economic Growth Council and was Senior Vice President of Marketing for Hoosier Hills Credit Union. He is a member of the Indiana Economic Development Association and works on multiple community projects in Bedford, Indiana, and the Lawrence County area.

The study shows visitor spending totaling $271.6 million, marking a 13 percent increase from the previous year and a regional economic impact of $198 million.
