Education and Radius Indiana


The region has convenient access to some of the country’s most respected institutions of higher learning. Many educational institutions offer both brick-and-mortar locations and distance-learning options.
 
Most of these colleges and universities are located within a 60-mile radius in Southern Indiana:
 
Indiana University Bloomington
Located just north of Lawrence County, Indiana University offers a wide variety of classroom options. Undergraduates can choose from over 180 majors and 330 degree programs. Graduate students can pursue more than 190 masters, doctoral, and professional degrees.
 
Indiana University Southeast
Indiana University Southeast, located next to Crawford and Washington counties, is one of eight Indiana University campuses. IU Southeast provides highly respected degrees and world-class resources, as well as the personal attention needed for success. It also offers the excitement of a Big Ten university.
 
Ivy Tech Community College
With three campuses in the south central Indiana region, Ivy Tech provides the necessary training for a skilled workforce. Ivy Tech Community College is Indiana’s largest public post-secondary institution. It serves nearly 200,000 students a year.
 
Purdue University
One of Purdue University’s four regional campuses is located just northwest of the Radius Indiana region. The university also has 10 learning centers. And Purdue’s College of Technology, which is in close proximity to south central Indiana, also offers learning programs. Purdue University serves a vital role in higher education in and around south central Indiana.
 
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is ranked as one of the nation's top institutions in engineering. More than 1,800 undergraduate and 100 graduate students are majoring in engineering, science, and mathematics at Rose-Hulman, in preparation for careers.
 
University of Evansville
The University of Evansville is located southwest of the Radius Indiana region. UE is ranked among the top 20 comprehensive universities in the United States for study-abroad programs. The university has received national recognition for its dedication to international education.
 
University of Southern Indiana
The University of Southern Indiana has an enrollment of nearly 11,000 undergraduate and graduate students. Programs at the comprehensive public university include 70 undergraduate majors, 10 masters programs, and 1 doctoral program. USI was founded in 1965 and is located just southwest of the 8 counties served by Radius Indiana.
 
Vincennes University 
Vincennes University has multiple community college locations in south central Indiana. It offers a variety of academic classroom programs and degrees. In addition, its workforce development initiatives help create a highly educated labor force in south central Indiana.

BEDFORD, Ind. (March 15, 2017) -- Radius Indiana continues its focus on attracting, retaining and expanding businesses in the eight-county region. We work closely with our local economic development organizations to monitor projects, pursue new business leads and conduct outreach to site selectors and companies looking to relocate or expand. During 2016 Radius staff, along with some of our LEDOs, traveled to Cincinnati, Louisville, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Evansville, Columbus, Chicago and New York to raise awareness about doing business in the Radius region.
BEDFORD, Ind. (March 30, 2017) - Radius Indiana concluded its inaugural economic development course at French Lick Resort on Thursday afternoon, wrapping up three days of education, networking and skills building for community leaders from across Southern Indiana.

BEDFORD, Ind. (March 10, 2017) — Radius Indiana saw record attendance this week at its annual stakeholders luncheon at the French Lick Resort. Nearly 150 attendees gathered to learn about the organization’s accomplishments from the past year and to hear about initiatives and key focus areas for 2017.
Radius Indiana today announced its new regional economic development conference for community leaders coming to the French Lick Springs Resort in March 2017.
